First Gen is a dialogue series for people who are the first in their families to build a life in Germany.

The format combines conversation, listening, reflection and shared resources. People speak from lived experience and professional practice, without turning complex lives into simple answers. Access to support is shaped by stigma, structural gaps and expectations of resilience; these are the conditions the series is held under, and about.

Three editions have taken place since 2023, in Berlin and Hamburg, with the third in Hamburg in April 2026. Recordings and materials from each edition are kept and shared here.
