Earth & Equity Network is a civil-society organization working at the intersection of climate change, environmental health, housing, energy, food, and social inequality. It supports communities that experience the consequences of environmental harm most directly while having the least influence over the decisions that create or address it. These include low-income households, tenants, migrants, older people, children, outdoor workers, and residents of neighborhoods with limited green space or high levels of traffic and industrial pollution.
The organization was founded on the principle that climate policy is also social policy. Heat, flooding, rising energy prices, poor housing quality, and air pollution do not affect everyone equally. A person’s income, health, employment, housing tenure, mobility, and access to public services all shape whether an environmental risk becomes an inconvenience, a financial crisis, or a threat to life.
Earth & Equity combines practical community support with research, advocacy, and public education. Its work includes neighborhood heat planning, tenant information, energy-advice referrals, community air-quality monitoring, food-growing projects, climate assemblies, and training for local organizers. It also helps residents understand development plans, environmental assessments, public consultations, and the institutions responsible for local climate adaptation.
The Network is careful not to shift responsibility for systemic problems onto individual consumers. While it offers practical guidance on reducing exposure, lowering energy use, or preparing for extreme weather, it also examines landlords, infrastructure, public investment, corporate responsibility, and unequal political power.
Its broader goal is to ensure that climate action improves everyday life rather than deepening existing inequalities. Earth & Equity works toward neighborhoods that are cooler, healthier, affordable, resilient, and shaped with the meaningful participation of the people who live there.
