Women’s Equity Alliance
Gender Equity And Womens Rights Nonprofit / Berlin, Germany
Über uns
Women’s Equity Alliance is a civil-society organization working to advance safety, economic independence, workplace equality, leadership, and public participation for women. Its approach is intersectional: it recognizes that gender inequality is shaped by race, migration status, disability, income, age, sexuality, caregiving responsibilities, and access to secure housing and employment.
The organization supports women who are navigating workplace discrimination, unequal pay, harassment, economic dependency, career interruption, gender-based violence, and exclusion from leadership or decision-making. It provides practical information, referral pathways, peer support, workshops, and advocacy resources. Its materials are designed to help people understand their options without implying that every problem can be solved through individual confidence or better negotiation.
Women’s Equity Alliance also works with employers, public institutions, funders, and community organizations to address the structural conditions behind unequal outcomes. These include opaque pay systems, inflexible work, weak complaints procedures, unsafe organizational cultures, underfunded support services, and the unequal distribution of unpaid care.
Its programs include salary and contract education, return-to-work support, leadership networks, financial-literacy workshops, safety planning referrals, mentoring, and public campaigns. The organization collaborates with specialist legal and violence-support services where an issue requires professional intervention beyond its own remit.
The Alliance’s broader goal is not simply to help individual women adapt to unequal systems. It aims to make those systems more transparent, accountable, and responsive. Its work therefore connects immediate questions—such as how to respond to harassment or negotiate flexible work—to wider debates about power, care, representation, safety, and who is able to participate fully in economic and public life.
